Friday Night Fly Tying

  • Friday, September 21, 2018
  • 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
  • The Club at McInnis Park
Friday Night Fly Tying sessions are typically held on the 3rd Friday of each month.  We meet at the Club at McInnis Park.
We'll often pick a relevant pattern for the current fishing season and teach that pattern.   All skill levels welcome!   We can provide all tools and materials, or you are welcome to bring your own.
October Caddis Soft Hackle (pic attached)

This Soft Hackle pattern, swung or dead-drifted, represents this large Caddis pupa, or emerger, or drowned adult.  It's been far more effective than October Caddis Dry fly patterns in late Sep through Oct.  This fly is a 'must have' for our Upper Sac trip.
.

Hook - TMC 200R, size 8
Thread - orange, 140 denier
Abdomen - Polar Chenille, amber (trimmed, given a buzz cut)
