Tuesday Night Flytying--Streamers

  • Tuesday, July 16, 2019
  • 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Marin Outdoor Trading Company

Apr 26 Fri Nite Fly Tying:  We'll be tying the 'Squirmy Wormy' which the Spanish and French teams use as their 'Go To' fly in World Championship competitions when 'nothing else is working'!

Streamer patterns have a long history of success in catching Stripers, Steelhead, and most species of trout, especially Browns.

You will learn the techniques of how to make these flies strong and durable.   We’ll focus on a Striper pattern that also catches big Browns (Clouser Minnow), A steelhead/Brown trout pattern (A ‘Better’ Woolly Bugger), and a trout killer (Slumpbuster)

Cost is $35 ($5 discount for members of Mt. Tamalpais Fly Fishers).  Your fee includes all materials, descriptive handout, etc.  Vises and tools will be available if needed.  Class will be held at the Marin Outdoor Trading Co. and is limited to 5 fly tyers.   To reserve a spot, contact Marin Outdoor Trading Co. at 1407  4th St, San Rafael, or call 415-295-7683.

About our instructor:  Larry Lack is an innovative award winning fly tier, has been a California flyfishing guide for 22 years, and has been teaching flyfishing and tying classes at College of Marin since 2008.
