This month we'll meet at The Club at McInnis on Friday, Feb 14 (Tie One With Your Valentine) 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The pattern will be a Mole Crab. MTFF Board Member Philip Swett is planning an outing this winter to Fish The Marin Coast for Surf Perch and the occasional Striper, both of whom LOVE to eat Mole Crabs. These are the little guys about the size (and shape) of your thumb who move up and down the beach with flow or ebb tide, and are regularly picked off by Perch, who fight like crazy. They are so muscular from living in the pounding surf zone, that you can think you've got a 5 lb fish on and finally land this 10" Surf Perch.
All materials will be provided, along with vises and tools if needed. Info on how to fish the surf will also be provided.
