First Cast Is Back (Novato)

Have attached the flyer for this year's 'Return to First Cast' after a 2-year hiatus of this Golden Gate Trout Unlimited sponsored education program due to Covid.

We'll register the first 36 youth (ages 10-18) who sign up, assign them to 6-person groups on the morning of Sun, Sep 18 at 8:30 at Hoog Park in Novato, which will rotate, 'Country-Fair' style through 6 Learning Stations, every 30 min.  This will be followed by a raffle for FF gear or prizes (all registrants will receive a raffle ticket), and then a free delicious BBQ lunch with 'all the trimmings'.  

For youngsters who are interested, we'll offer 2 follow-up sessions for practice, with coaching, at the Marin Civic Center Lagoon Island on Sun, Sep. 25, 9:00 to 11:00, and then on Sun, Oct. 2, we'll meet at my home in Novato at 8:00 a.m., outfit the kids in waders and boots, journey to Putah Creek (the Tailwater coming out of Lake Berryessa) and teach them the nymphing skills essential to catching lots of trout.

So far we have 16 registrants, so if you'll send me your son's name, age, and contact info, we'll get him signed up.  Have him feel free to invite any buddies who might be interested in learning how to master 'The Silent Sport'.
