The Thin Mint was developed in the mid 1980s for the beautiful lakes of central Oregon by Bob Gaviglio.

This fly is my go-to wooly bugger style fly and small streamer.  Ferocious grabs on Putah Creek, stunning sea-run cutthroat under the coastal redwoods, and summer steelhead on the North Umpqua with this fly.   This fly works well with just about any rod and rig you want to use.  The color combination of this fly is irresistable.  I tie this fly on both a longer shank hook with a heavy bead and a shorter shank hook with a smaller bead.
